P45
Four part form used by an employer to indicate an individual’s pay and tax leaving details. It is extremely important you are given a P45 when you leave an employer, as it will show your PAYE code which needs to be correct otherwise you may pay more tax in your next job / temporary assignment.
P46
Form used by an employer to advise the Inland Revenue of a new employee and the code initially operated. If you don’t have / not yet received your P45 from your previous employment, you will need to sign a P46.
P60
Certificate of pay and tax details sent to you at the end of each tax year. It will breakdown your earnings and tax throughout the whole tax year.
P38(S)
A form to be filled in by students in employment. Helps with no / little tax being deducted from your work during University holidays.
