Receptionist
Receptionist – Hannah Ketchin

What do you do and where do you work?
I am a Receptionist at Euro RSCG KLP
Can you describe what you do on a day to day basis?
I arrive at work at 9.30 and usually start my day off with a cup of tea and a catch up with the other receptionist who comes in earlier and opens up the building. She fills me on anything I need to know such as any deliveries we may be expecting or important client meetings we need to be aware of.
I then log into my computer and check through my emails and have a look over the meeting room diary for the day, as this gives me an idea of who to expect and what rooms are available.
During the day my main responsibilities are greeting clients and ensuring they are made to feel welcome, responding to emails and managing the busy switchboard. Reception is also responsible for booking all the meeting rooms in the building. I have to be really organised when it comes to booking rooms as it can get very busy and we often have to prioritise certain clients meetings and juggle things around quite a lot.
I also spend a lot of my time arranging couriers which can be anything from arranging taxis for staff, organising express bikes and arranging large deliveries overseas. Sometimes the reception can be quite but then suddenly it can become very busy and I have different people asking me to do different things all at the same time. So I always make sure I am organised and prioritise my workload effectively.
How did you hear about the job?
I was temping for Yellow Cat in another administrative role when Om called me to tell me about the vacancy at KLP. I was very interested in the role so Yellow Cat sent over my CV. Before both the first and second interviews Jonny from Yellow Cat gave me a lot of advice and support, which helped me feel prepared and confident for the interviews.
How would you describe your experience with Yellow Cat Recruitment?
After I graduated from university I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do so I decided to temp for a while. I signed up with lot of different agencies but Yellow Cat really stood out as they were friendly, helpful and they seemed genuinely interested in what I had done in the past, my skills and what I was hoping to do in the future.
I remember I signed up with them on a Tuesday and by the Thursday I was already placed in a temporary position at a design agency. I then spent about 10 months temping through Yellow Cat working for a variety of great companies. During this time I only had about 1 week where I wasn’t in work which is fantastic.
Yellow Cat are a really great agency. They are friendly, genuine and will do everything they can to advise you and help you find the type of work you are looking for. I have recommended Yellow Cat Recruitment to many of my friends and will continue to do so.
