CV advice

General Points

  • Keep everything to 2 pages.
  • Have a good structure; put sections under different sub headings.
  • Use bullet points to ensure content is clear, structured, concise and relevant.
  • Keep the same font and size throughout (apart from headings).
  • Avoid using italics, bold too much, decorative borders and images.
  • Check content carefully for grammatical errors and spelling mistakes.
  • Tailor your CV to the job spec to emphasise your relevant skills and experience.
  • Be truthful and realistic as false comments will only catch up with you in the interview.
  • Remember when writing your CV you are marketing yourself to that particular company.

Sections within CV
